History

San Antonio Roots

Gillette Air Conditioning has been in operation since it's founding on July 4, 1959. Vincent and Marjorie Gillette found themselves in the unique position to provide an extremely valuable service to San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Beginnings were humble, but the business proposed as Marjorie's nurturing capabilities and Vince's HVAC expertise . They worked as a team, and set the standard that would carry on into the next century.

Vincent also served a one-year tenure as Chairman for the Air Conditioning Contractors of America in 1983. He was a huge proponent in developing a peer group of regional experts from across the nation, helping to improve each others' businesses, business practices, and expertise. This peer group continues to meet today.

Family Pride

Vincent and Marjorie also nurtured a family, on top of running a successful and prospering air conditioning company. They have four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-granchildren. Each of their progeny has been taken under the Gillette Air Conditioning wing at some point in their professional career.

Passing the Torch

Their eldest son Vince began as a service technician and worked his way through the service department, eventually working his way up to becoming Vice President in 1992. He became president of the company in 1998. He Not only is he involved in all aspects of Gillette Air Conditioning divisions, he is also a serving board member in many professional organizations.

Working Together

The twins Thomas and Edward started out in the field, and have since come into their own, and honing their specific knowledge and traits. Thomas began driving a service truck and, after having worked and trained in all aspects of the HVAC specialties, in charge of multi-million dollar projects. Sharon Walls, their daughter and certified CPA, has served as the Gillette Air Conditioning accountant.

A New Generation

The company continues to move forward as a family-owned company. Several of Vincent and Marjorie's grandchildren work for Gillette Air Conditioning Company. Their granddaughter Katelyn serves as the Human Resource Manager, their grandson Vince (V3) is a technician in the service division, and their granddaughter Kim is currently studying to be an Mechanical Engineer.

Personnel History

Gillette strives to create opportunities for careers and not simply jobs. We do this by partnering with Associated Builders and Contractors for 2 apprentice programs. These programs allow our less experienced employees to gain on the job training as well as classroom instruction.

Gillette Air Conditioning has been recognized for dedication and stability for building careers for our team members. , Most of Gillette’s 160 plus employees have been with us for years, many for decades.

We have and continue to do work all over the state. Gillette has completed projects in San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, Laredo, Kerrville and many other cities.

Local Talent for Careers

Our Goal is to be consistently growing our skill set by training and teaching our employees. We partner with Construction Careers Academy to provide Air Conditioning for their Tiny Homes projects the students build each year. We continue to be committed to our city by participating in numerous events around town.
